A self-contained two storey 'cottage' near Hay-on-Wye to the far end of M136 and located next to the owner's C17th farmhouse 1 mile NE Painscastle, 4½ miles from Hay-on-Wye. Stabling is available on this organic farm, which has sheep, red deer and horses, free range fowl, lots of wildlife and rare plants (SSSI). Golf 1 mile and excellent local walking. On the ground floor of this Hay-on-Wye cottage is a shower room and an open-plan living room with small pine fitted kitchen area, dining table, TV and a double bed settee. A spiral staircase leads up to a twin bedroom with 2ft 6ins beds. Oil-fired central heating is run off the owner's supply. By unlocking an interconnecting double door, the accommodation can be used in conjunction with M136, to sleep up to 16. Friday - Friday bookings. Towels provided.

This studio apartment has one step up to the front door and two further steps and a sharp turn into the living room. While, with the use of the sofa bed, you can have one-level accommodation (shower/WC on the ground floor); the spiral staircase leading to the twin bedded attic room is only for the agile. The walls are magnolia or white, and the ceilings white; doors and frames and skirting natural wood. The lighting is good; TV has remote control, but no phone and no mobile signal. Use of farmhouse phone in emergency. This property is accessed from the gravelled main yard in front of the farmhouse. There is ample parking space.
