This Access Statement has been prepared by the owner for your information; it is the most recent version that we have received.

This property is an 18th century cottage. Access is from the private lay-by adjacent to the cottage, which is situated on an unclassified council road. The cottage is accessed by a flight of 8 steps (down), which has a handrail on the left hand side to assist with mobility. Access can also be achieved via the lawn but this is steep and care would be needed when walking on wet grass. We think this would be unsuitable for the infirm. The ground floor of the cottage has various steps within its structure because of the oak beams. There is a narrow passage to the kitchen, and access to the back door is via a small door, and small lobby, and yet more steps, which would not be suitable for wheelchair access. The downstairs bathroom is accessed at the foot of the stairs, which again has more steps due to the oak beams which are part of the cottage structure. The stairs are narrow with a handrail on the right. The landing area is narrow with only one bedroom having access without steps being involved. Walls throughout are mostly pale, with light doors and frames. Lighting is good, will pull switches over all beds. The TV has remote control, there is no phone and some mobiles have no reception at the cottage.
