Pick a place to stay on this spectacular coast, by the river, or secluded away in the hills. This coastal county makes a stunning backdrop for a retreat with family or friends. Browse through our collection of Pembrokeshire cottages for a little short-break inspiration.

As you’re sat on the beach and gazing out to the islands just off the coast, why not take one of the boat trips out to see them in all their glory? Caldey Island is one of the Holy Islands of Britain and can be spotted from pretty seaside Tenby. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path was the first National Trail in Wales and runs for 186 miles. Along your walk, you will experience some of the most breathtaking coastal scenery in the UK. This breathtaking coast path was voted second by National Geographic magazine in the world’s top 10 long-distance paths, along with Pembrokeshire being named the world’s second-best coastal destination!

For the ultimate adrenaline rush, try an activity that was pioneered in Pembrokeshire, and has now taken the UK by storm: coasteering. This sport involves scrambling along rocks located on cliffs with the sea swirling underneath you, jumping from a cliff-face or rock edge, and adventure swimming. Surfing is also extremely popular in the area, as the county is considered as having the very best surf beaches in Wales. Thrill seekers can also try out some magnificent mountain biking in Pembrokeshire and, for those seeking something more leisurely, there are some beautiful steam trains to be admired at a Pembrokeshire or West Wales heritage railway

The rolling range of the Preseli Hills can be considered one of the most important pre-historic and historic sites in the UK. The hills are the location of Pentre Ifan, the largest and best-preserved prehistoric burial chamber in Wales. The huge bluestones of Carn Menyn were deemed necessary to form the inner circle of Stonehenge, and as this entailed an arduous journey of over 200 miles it demonstrates the high regard this area was held in more than 4,500 years ago!

From our Pembrokeshire holiday lets, you can visit some of the most impressive castles in West Wales. Much of both Carew and Pembroke Castles survive and provide great settings for a family day out. You'll also find Britain's smallest city here, St Davids, a place of pilgrimage for centuries, named after the patron saint of Wales. A trip to the 12th century St Davids Cathedral won't disappoint as it is one of Wales’ most iconic religious sites.
