Spring gardens on your Swansea and Gower Wales cottage holiday during February Half Term week

7th February 2010

You may think it a little early in the year for horticultural delights but several gardens in the Swansea and Gower areas will be open for Wales Holidays visitors staying in self-catering cottages during the February Half Term week.
Set in 850 acres of parkland, Margam Park is located just off the M4 near Port Talbot. During half term week it is offering exciting family activities; on Tuesday 16 February there are Paranormal tours of Margam Castle with Ghostwatch Wales.
The following day you can learn a little about working with freshly cut wood and make something to take home with you at the Green woodworking sessions with Dragonfly Creations. On Thursday 18 February there’s a Winter Nature Ramble through the Park, looking out for the Margam Deer and wintering birds.
And on Friday 19 February you’re invited to Discover Reptiles – an illustrated talk by Geraint the Snakeman! These are all free events (car parking £3.50).
Just to the west of Swansea city centre are Singleton Botanic Gardens with 100 acres of parkland and several glasshouses representing a variety of different climates from around the world. The C19th Clyne Gardens, between Swansea and Mumbles, offer a variety of features including an historic castle, tower, chapel, bog garden, lake and waterfall. Free admission to both.
