Full steam ahead for Easter self-catering cottage visitors to North Wales, Mid Wales, West Wales and the Brecon Beacons

Steam railways throughout Wales will be open and running trains for visitors staying in Wales Holidays self-catering cottages and farmhouses during the Easter Holidays – and some will be operational earlier in March.
For visitors to North Wales and the Snowdonia area, the Ffestiniog Railway will be running services on Wednesdays and Thursdays up to 25 March and then every day from the 27th. The Snowdon Mountain Railway starts its season on 19 March, the recently restored Welsh Highland Railways starts on the 27th and the Llanberis Lake Railway runs on three or four days a week from 9 March and then every day from Sunday 28th.
Limited services run on the Llangollen Railway (some are railcar operated) until 26 March with daily steam hauled trains from the 27th for Wales Holidays visitors in the Denbigh, Corwen and the Llangollen areas.
Visitors to the Bala and Oswestry regions will be able to use the Bala Lake Railway from 1 April which runs from the SW end of the lake at Llanuwchllyn. For visitors to Dolgellau and the North Cambrian coast, the Talyllyn Railway will be running two trains a day on some days until 27 March and then three or four during the holidays.
Mid Wales visitors to the Welshpool area have a services on the Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway from Thursday 1 April, the Vale of Rheidol starts Easter services on the same day out of Aberystwyth and for the Machynlleth area, the Corris Railway will have steam up from 1 to 4 April.
In the Brecon Beacons for Wales Holidays cottage visitors, trains will be running on the Brecon Beacons Mountain Railway.
