Wales Holidays have a number of cottages and farmhouses in many areas of Wales that are a very close or within one to three miles or so of a railway station. So if you don’t have a car or wish to leave it at home, take the train!
For example, the 10.00 out of London Paddington will set you down at the little station of Penally near Tenby at 15.48 (you have to ask the conductor to stop the train for you!) just a short walk from a 4 Star Wales Holidays Cottage.
For West Wales and Pembrokeshire, First Great Western run the route out of Paddington with connecting services provided by Arriva Trains Wales; west of Cardiff; Wales Holidays has a number of “rail accessible” places between Bridgend and Swansea.
The Heart of Wales line runs out of Swansea and serves a number of cottages in Carmarthenshire as it heads north to Llandovery along the western edges of the Brecon Beacons.
For cottages in Pembrokeshire, the main line continues from Swansea to Carmarthen and through Whitland (the junction for the Pembroke/Tenby branch), Clynderwen, Clarbeston Road (change here for the Haverfordwest/Milford Haven branch) and on to the terminus at Fishguard Harbour.
