It has been said many times that there are two types of golf, ‘Stuffy Golf’ and ‘Golf as it should be’. The latter is golf in Mid Wales, where clubs in and around small country towns extend a warm welcome to visitors.
The Welsh Border Golf Club Complex is located east of Welshpool near the beautiful Breidden Hills and includes a par 70 18-hole Competition Course and a par 30 9-hole Academy Course.
Welshpool Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course located on the Golfa hilltops outside of Welshpool with breathtaking scenery like and provides year round play with no temporary greens during the winter months.
North of Welshpool is the Llanymynech Golf Club which is in an outstanding location on the Wales/England border giving panoramic views with excellent greens on a well established course with unique features of 15 holes in Wales and 3 in England.
To the west of Welshpool, St Giles Golf Club has a charming nine-hole course situated alongside the River Severn on the outskirts of the Mid Wales market town of Newtown.
