The Talyllyn, Welsh Highland, Ffestiniog and Brecon Mountain Railways will all be running services during the February half term week and on other dates in February - and Thomas the Tank Engine will be visiting the Llangollen Railway.

In North Wales and Snowdonia, the Welsh Highland Railway will be operational throughout the half term week (11 to 17 February plus Sunday 19th) with two steam trains daily from Porthmadog to Caernarfon and from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. Steam returns to the Ffestiniog Railway in 2012 on Wednesday and Thursday 22 and 23 February with two trains both days from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
For visitors to the Dolgellau and the North Cambrian coast area, the Talyllyn Railway will be running during half term from Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 February with steam trains leaving Tywyn Wharf Station for Abergynolwyn at 10.30 and 13.50; on these days the shop, cafe and museum will be open from 10.00 to 16.00.
During the half term week in the Denbigh, Corwen and Llangollen area, Thomas the Tank Engine, together with Sir Topham Hatt, Daisy, Goliath and Clarabel, will be visiting the Llangollen Railway on Saturday and Sunday 11 and 12 February and from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th for a fun day out for all the family! Steam trains will also be running on the Railway from Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 February.
Other services in February include steam on Sunday 5 February and again on Sunday 26th. Heritage diesel railcars will be on the line on Saturday 5th and 26th February.
On Saturdays and Sundays from 25 February to 18 March, Ffestiniog trains will be running on the Welsh Highland Railway taking visitors on a scenic trip from Porthmadog to Beddgelert. On Wednesday 29th February and all Wednesdays and Thursdays in March until the 22nd, there will be steam trains on the Ffestiniog from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog.
In the Brecon Beacons, steam trains will be running on the Brecon Mountain Railway on all Saturday and Sundays in February and during the Half term week (13 to 17 February) leaving Pant Station near Merthyr Tydfil at 12.00, 13.30 and 15.00; these trains will also run on all Saturday and Sundays in March as well.
