Glyndwr’s Way, awarded National Trail status in 2000, is a Mid Wales path running southwest from Welshpool to Machynlleth and then back to Knighton. It passes through some spectacular rolling scenery and over the sites of many battles fought by Owain Glyndwr. Machynlleth, the historic town at its mid-point, is where Glyndwr was crowned Prince of Wales and established his parliament in 1404. -

Built by Offa, King of Mercia, between 757 and 796 AD, Offa’s Dyke is an ancient Anglo-Welsh border defence earthwork. This 177 mile (285km) National Trail runs from Prestatyn on the North Wales coast to Chepstow in the south, crossing the current border over 20 times, with two-thirds of the path in Wales.
