Cottage Information
Quality Assurance Scheme
The quality star grading scheme operated by Visit Wales is a harmonised system that is used across the UK.
Properties at the higher levels will be expected to have a wider range of fittings and equipment (eg dishwasher, washing machine and freezer at 5*). Please note that such fittings are included in the
description of each property.
At 4*, towels will be provided or available at extra cost, so where owners are not able to supply this facility at all, then their rating will drop to 3*.
The actual inspection includes the marking of 35 categories, each one being assessed on a scale of 1-5. Although the overall mark may indicate the final grade, it is not possible for a property to achieve a 4 Star rating, for example, if any area (eg the kitchen) attains only an overall 3 star quality. The categories for the inspection start with the exterior of the property (first impression, the building itself and the grounds and gardens). The living rooms are marked for space, decor, electrical/lighting, floor coverings, furnishings and furniture; bedrooms likewise, plus categories for beds, bedding and bed linen. Similar classifications also apply to the kitchen and bathroom and, finally, marks are given for heating, cleanliness, guest information and arrival procedure.
AWAITING VISIT WALES GRADING:- For new properties that we have recently visited and which had not, at the time of going to press, been graded by Visit Wales, we have used our own symbol
to represent our opinion of the standard of the cottage prior to receiving the official Visit Wales Star grade. The
symbol is also used when the property has recently been improved and is awaiting a re-visit for the official Visit Wales re-grading.
Accessibility Requirements
Some visitors have special requirements regarding access to a property or facilities needed within it. Our owners have produced "access statements" for each property to assist you in choosing the right place to meet your needs.
For this information, go to the page of the property that you are interested in and click on "Accessibility Info"; if you prefer, we can email, fax or post them to you.
As always, we are here to help; we shall do all we can to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday.
Kitchens
Kitchens are all equipped with an electric cooker (or gas, if stated), a microwave and a fridge, together with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Where the property is shown as having a Rayburn, Aga or similar, there is also an electric or gas cooker. Many places have freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and dryers, and these will be listed in the description for each property. A high chair can often be provided; please check with us.

Where the heading reads "Pet by arrangement" please always check with us at the time of booking that your pet or pets will be accepted. A small dog will normally be acceptable but there may be restrictions on larger breeds.
There is no extra charge for one pet but please ensure that your dog is kept under firm control at all times and is not allowed on any of the furniture. "No Pets" does not exclude guide or hearing dogs.

Cleaning
All properties are cleaned and serviced between bookings but, as the cleaner's time is often limited during busy periods, we ask you to leave the property as clean and tidy as you found it.
Electricity & Fuel
Electricity is only included in the price when shown in the description heading. Otherwise, electricity is by a coin/card meter or by metered supply (the meter being read when you arrive and leave). Oil, gas and solid fuels are often at extra cost. When, for instance, logs are provided or other heating costs are included in the price, this is clearly indicated in the description.
